Shiagogs Fall from Grace: Leonia.

Shiagogs Fall from Grace: Leonia.

Fall From Grace : Leonia

In one night, city after city began to fall. Where it had been only smaller forts, and towns, now the centres of power began to collapse leaving much of Westshire in a state of ruin. A state of absolute panic and fear. The Shiagogs killed mercilessly. They destroyed homes, ravaged fields, even striking down women and children in their wake. There was nothing that Westshire could have done. It simply collapsed. While their men were trained, they were but mortals. They didn’t know how to take on the winged foe before them. Nor did they know how to defend against their might…

In one last effort to save the people of Terra, one last kingdom arose. A kingdom in which had gone unseen, unnoticed in the entire second era, choosing isolation from all others. Located on a series of large islands out in the middle of the ocean. This wasn’t too hard achieve. But they were a people of knowledge and magic… Not a waring faction.

This was the Kingdom of Leonia, a people of peace, magic, and power… A People innocent of all plots and all war. They had never fought a battle, not less waged a campaign against anyone. Yet now at this time, they were forced to take a stand… A stand for all that they believed in. A stand against the growing darkness the threatened their world.

Sending ships to the mainland, Leonia evacuated the remaining men and women from the kingdoms of Westshire… Their mages hurtled boulders and drew down lightning against the Shiagogs that terrorized the skies. Yet until this point, they didn’t know that the Thians were impervious to magic….

Deciding on a different tactic, the Leonia’s were able to hold off the Thian legions using a practice known as indirect spell casting. This practice allowed them to construct walls, summon tidal waves and even fierce storms, slowing down the Shiagogs pursuits. This draining art allowed over a thousand ship to evacuate, thought at a heavy cost. Many on board these ships still perished do to the storms and waves.  Even more last their lives, draining their magics till they collapsed lifeless upon the Leonian decks…

For the next twelve months, Leonia stood… Where all other kingdoms had crumbled. Their ships patrolled the seas. Their alliance with the royal elves from the deep south gave them warriors in the air… Yet there was a reason why the Shiagogs were known as the unbreakable military force… For even with a growing global alliance under the command of the Leonia council, they were still losing…. Gushtal was decimating the cities in the southern continents. Though not as quick as he had done in his surprise attacks. Yet nevertheless, this was cutting off the millions of Leonia from vital supplies. Supplies that lead to starvation… disease and famine.  It was only time before the southern kingdoms fell, and then they would come for them…

On the twelfth month of the second year of war… Leonian fleets cease reporting back. All ships that were sent out to investigate never returned. The winged elves disappeared from the sky and an eerie calm came…

In one last act of desperation, knowing that the end was coming soon… The Leonians called upon the magical shards of their realms. They channelled its power, sacrificing hundreds of spellcasters to erect a powerful shield. A shield of pure and raw energy. A shield that should have lasted for a thousand years…  A shield that had always been their last resort against invaders. A shield that failed… A shield that splintered, absorbed and bypass as if it had never been placed… A shield that brought Gushtal himself…
